Recycled Leather

http://www.ecodomo.com/about.html
Leather is a material we come into contact with on a daily basis. It may be through shoes, handbags, belts and other wearable items, or through furniture upholstered in leather. In design, it can be used to emphasize luxury, comfort, a link to nature or the Wild West. The look and quality of leather can say a lot about style and location, but does it ever say sustainable?
Perhaps leather is sustainable, at least in terms of it being a natural material that is somewhat renewable. Recycled leather seems like an odd idea from a textural standpoint, but Ecodomo recycled leather tiles are an interesting reuse that still has the look and feel of the original. Read more:

Eco Friendly Furniture

Gruba, an Argentinian design studio has come up with an interesting take on upcycled furniture. At first glance, the sofa chair looks like a shapely lounge piece with a comfy curve made of wood slats. Upon closer investigation, it turns out the wood slats are in fact recycled wood blinds that have been painted and wrapped around a reconstituted wood frame. The chair reminds me of the Mod Rocker by Igloo Play, which is a curvaceous rocking chair for kids made from molded plywood.
